Priming
I believe I have just about completed my priming research. There sure is a lot said on the topic. Most people (not everyone) believe that all internal airframe components should be primed for long term corrosion resistance. This is what I believe our priming process will be:
Scuff all parts with ScotchBrite pads (07447).
Pre Clean parts with Dawn dish detergent
Clean with PPG DX-533 Aluminum Cleaner. This is diluted with 3 parts water and applied with a spray bottle and fine ScotchBrite pad, then rinsed with water and dried.
Dip part in PPG DX-503 Aluminum Conditioner (tinted alodine). 3 minutes in the dip, then straight to a tub of water. Then dried
Finally a two part epoxy primer will be applied PPG DP-50 (gray)
