Got Seats
The seats that I ordered from Classic Aero arrived. They look pretty nice. I sure wish they were lighter. The seat backs with internal frames weigh 8lbs. each, the bottom cushion is another 3lbs., plus probably another 1.5lbs. (I didn’t weigh them) for the foam under the seat bottom. So, total, about 12.5lbs. per seat. Oh well, the cost of being very comfortable :). I’m very happy with the quality of the upholstery work and after about 15 minutes of seat time with airplane noises, I think they are going to be very comfortable. They have a very nice little pocket on the seat backs and adjustable lumbar support. I got mine without headrests. The seat backs come with the lower attach hinge left for the builder to customize the side to side placement. I found this process to just be trial and error. I’m pretty sure that I’m just going to leave off the upper support bracket at least on the pilot’s side and let the seat back just rest on the rear bulkhead.
